Would you like some easy steps to follow to help re-establish a sense of balance and wellness to your life?
I am going to share with you a fun and easy way to do just that.
Perhaps you have heard of Chanting perhaps you have not?
This is an ancient practice that uses sound vibration to cleanse, clear, align and balance your major energy centers called Chakras, found within your body. This practice can be done anywhere any time. I usually chant in the car on my way somewhere or spontaneously when the urge hits. Like taking a cleansing deep breath, chanting can just make you feel so relaxed and at ease. Reducing Stress? Yes!
I thought I would go into the Chakras just a little to give you some background. Each chakra is associated with a certain part of the body and a certain organ, which it provides with the energy it needs to function. They also correspond to a specific aspect of human behavior and development. The lower chakras are associated with fundamental emotion and needs and they vibrate at a lower frequency. The upper chakras vibrate on a higher frequency and are associated with mental and spiritual aspirations.
A blockage in the energy flow of the chakras can lead to an imbalance and disharmony in our physical, mental and spiritual bodies. These disturbances can be caused by stress, trauma or a painful experience. If all of these chakras are balanced and clear your energy can flow freely and you will feel well and energised. When any of the chakras become blocked you can experience pain both emotionally and physically.
We are all made up of vibration so when a Chaka is out of balance or closed it simply is not vibrating at the right frequency. So all you need to do is create the vibration within your energy field and your clever Chakra will copy the vibration.
Below I have listed the Chakras and the sound vibration that relates. Give them a try, it is a very fun and easy way to re-set your energy centres, and therefor reduce stress.
Doing this as a group has a wonderful effect on your energy and leads to plenty of laughter. Laughter is the best medicine, so if you can, make some time to try these either on your own or in a group and enjoy yourself.
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Base Chakra. The Base Chakra keeps us grounded and linked to the earth. Located at the base of the spine, it is where your fundamental urge to survive sits. Chanting the mantra “LAM” will cleanse darkness that can collects in the base chakra area, opening you up to feelings of security, prosperity and belonging. This Chant will clear any blocked energy that is trapped.
Chant “LAM” when
· you feel your energy is low
· you struggle financially
· you suffer from low self-esteem
· you suffer from adrenal fatigue
· other stress-related ailments
Relief can be felt immediately.
Sacral Chakra - VAM:
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Sacral Chakra, which is associated with sexuality, pleasure, creativity and is where fear resides. Located two fingers below the navel. Opening this chakra will open you up to others, give you the courage to express yourself and to embrace change.
Chant “VAM” when
· you have poor self-image
· you find it hard to open up in relationships
· you feel unsatisfied sexually
· you suffer from low libido
· you need to release FEAR
Solar Plexus Chakra - RAM:
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Solar Plexus Chakra, the seat of your personal power, social identity, influence and authority. Located a palm width above the navel
Chant “RAM” to
· increase your ability to stand up for yourself
· control negative impulses
· exercise greater self-control
· Increase your self-esteem
· become more confident and self-assured
· alleviate stomach pains and anxiety
Heart Chakra - YAM:
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Heart Chakra. Located in the centre of the chest. Your Heart Chakra is the center of giving and receiving love. If you’re not feeling loving, lovable, compassionate or experience relationship difficulties, using this chant “YAM” will help.
Chant “YAM” to
· heal both the physical heart and the spiritual (emotional) heart center
· open yourself up to unconditional love and compassion
· help in the forgiveness process, of self and others
Throat Chakra - HAM:
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances Throat Chakra. Located in the throat area. This is your physical and spiritual voice, your means of communicating who you are and what you need from yourself and the universe. The throat chakra governs your ability to express yourself – if it’s closed, you will find yourself frequently frustrated as you cannot voice your needs. This unfortunately closes you off to opportunities and having your needs met. A closed throat chakra makes honesty and integrity difficult.
Chant “HAM” to
· open your throat chakra so that you can communicate with honesty and integrity.
· promote confidence and independence
Third Eye - AUM (or OM):
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Third Eye Chakra. Found in the center of your forehead and directly in line with the center of your brain, the third eye chakra is the seat of intuition and life purpose. While OM is one of the most common mantras and can be used for a wide variety of applications, it is particularly important to the cleansing and healing of your third eye chakra.
Chant “OM” to
· Increase your connection to your intuition
· release out worn out belief systems
· ignite passion and purpose in your life
· see clearly your chosen path
· increase clear thought
· open your awareness
Crown Chakra - AH:
This is the cleansing mantra that opens and balances your Crown Chakra, the connection to the universal life energy. Located just above the top of your head. A closed Crown Chakra brings about feelings of insignificance and pointlessness, leading to a disconnect from spirit and an overly strong attachment to possessions, relationships and the physical world. Some find silence an effective practice for opening the crown chakra. Try chanting AH as this represents release. Think about taking a deep breath, then letting it go say “AHHH” the sound of releasing and letting go.
Chant "AHHH" to
· Reconnect with the Universal Life Force Energy
· Bring about a sense of connectedness
· relieve feelings of pointlessness and insignificance.
